First time doing 名媛直播. I've always wanted one, but I've been so bad at keeping plants.
But I've been doing a lot of work being more mindful and present, and this year I'm trying to fold in longer-term thinking. I got this guy as a gift for myself as a symbol of that effort to join me on the journey.
Waiting for spring to do the first re-potting (though spring weather starts early in CA). Only done some minor maintenance so far and no shaping yet. Mostly just got him recovered from the shipping adventure and going strong. So this is my "before":

Welcome to the empire.
Keep in mind that bonsai is mostly about doing nothing. There is no maintenance to be done at the moment. And KNOW why you need to repot. Leaving a plant alone for long stretches of time (Months) besides watering and fertilizer, is what keeps them healthy. Doing stuff reduces health, and therefor needs to be done for the right reasons at the right time.

do not hesitate to turn it at least every 15 days and when the outside temperatures are mild, take it out in the shade at the start
