Last year I found a pile of plants pulled out, and getting ready to be tossed (They were already in a large container). So I pulled out a yew and a juniper.

I have made some design decisions in 2019 with regards to the juniper; Not wired it out fully yet, but the direction is now clear from the work done to date. HOwever, I would like to give you a chance to form your ideas and will post a picture of it after finding and potting it up initially. What is YOUR view for the future of this plant?

That looks a nice tree indeed, although the lower trunk seems a bit too straight...
Hard to judge without having a reference of its actual thickness, but if that trunk is still flexible enough I'd try to slowly bend it downwards do get some movement and go for a cascade.
As for the upper part, I'd try to arrange the foliage in 3 or 4 pads, to provide a frame for the deadwood at the base of the trunk...

Maybe tilt it to have the beginning of a nice cascade?

I agree a cascade would fit this tree beautifully.

If the weather lets up a little, I will pop out for a picture to post later this day so you can see what route I took.

...for me the long straight bottom branch is a problem, or maybe better said, something i keep looking at and coming back to....Its almost as if there are two trees in there: the top one and the bottom one.
So what i would do ( without having seen the tree, always difficult on a picture) is or cut away the bottom branch, or bend it severely so it "connects" with the rest of the tree

Guess no more ideas will come in.

I decided to turn things upside down and make the trunk and first branch into trunks, and the lower branch of the second trunk, in a trunk again. CReating three trees on a cascading raft.

Nothing styled to the end of course. Now the aim wat to get the angle of the attachments right, and to let light in. Nect year I will focus on backbudding.

So... yes, I gave the easy answer - cascade. Too obvious?
Interesting plan, and thanks for learning us to think out of the box.

Really forward thinking there. Like that idea a lot and looking forward to see the progress. I expect Nothing else than an unique and beautiful tree.

I didn't have any ideas, because I was assuming you wanted to keep the cascade, semi-cascade... this lesson is quite instructive... I think, in time what you've done will make for a better tree...

Where exactly is the branch on the top right originating from?
