Lowe’s has some nice trees in the “feature tree” section of the garden shop. 50$ for the 3.5 gallon 5 year old tree. Inaba Shidare acer palmatum for those keeping score. They also have a huger variety of the green dwarf maple as well. But they are 15 year old and as thick as a baseball bat on the trunk...150$ wide 5 gallon pot...may need to invest. Just showing you folks what is out there for spring trees!

I read your post in "Introduce yourself" and see that you know a lot of things. Nice trees, indeed, but I was wondering why you consider them interesting for bonsai? They would not be my first choice for various reasons.
