Hello everyone. I've stumbled upon something and bought it for about 12 $. Did a repot and this is what I've managed to get out of it. Will see what happens in the future.

Three sticks in a pot, will not make it into a forest. And there is no such thing called mini forest.

To make it a real forest you need at least 9 trunks. Otherwise it's not a forest

The closest you get with those sticks are Sambon-Yose. Look it up. Youre welcome.

Ok. I'll decide in the future years if it will be a forest of 9 or an Sambon-Yose. That's why it says "start" in the title, it's in development . The category says Progressions. I just can't post a refined tree and say the progression of my tree .... I will cut 2 leaves next year...and that's it. Jesus...
If I've posted a seed that had just popped out a leaf and called it: "My starting tree", would you come in and say : duuuddee it's not a tree, it's a seed lol lol lol?
As for the strict rules of styling ... what I've learned over the past years studying some forms of art, it's that the rules become suggestions - that is a mature point you have to reach. A beautiful thing is a beautiful thing.
But I guess it depends if you're doing it for your soul or for others to critique and/or maybe to sell them.
If anybody would listen to every guy that tells them that they suck on any hobby or something that they picked up, nobody would evolve into anything.
So thanks for your thoughts, and in the future try to be less aggressive. People come here to get tips, hints and lean from people more advanced in this art.

When you write "forest" in your topic. Don't you understand that I'm pointing out that it's not a forest?
You don't tell your future plans and i'm not a mind reader. You call it forest, start or not, I tell you it's not. And it's not even a start to become forest.

The funny thing is that after I tell you it's not a forest, but closest to a Sambon-Yose. Then you write that in the future you decide whether to be a forest or a Sambon-Yose. But in your topic it sounds like you had decided on a forest. Otherwise you would have written that it would be a forest or a Sambon-Yose in the future.

From my angle it looked like you thought you had a forest and I tell you, you don't. But now you know that there should be minimum 9 trees to become a forest and the closest to a forest you now have is a Sambon-Yose. I'm not a mind reader, you don't write what it should be in the future. I don't take advices from you. But I give you one: take a chill pill in the future when you get advices, otherwise you should not ask for advices. I clearly told you something you didn't knew, you don't need to be aggressive.

I'd find 7 trees pretty acceptable. I bet 5 would work too. Less would be a bit trickier, but not really impossible.

I see. Learned something new today.

Says one of the most respected bonsai masters in my country. I trust him more than I trust you and BE's care guides etc. Let me tell you what I learned from him, perhaps you will learn something like Claudio did:

2 trunks = Soju
3 trunks = Sambon-Yose
5 trunks = Gohon-Yose
9 trunks or more = Yose-Ue

And thats why you can't call 3 sticks a forest and not either 5 or 7 trunks as you say. That are either called Sambon-Yose or Gohan-Yose. A forrest has MINIMUM 9 trunks and is called Yose-Ue. Of course you can find forest with 7 trunks. But it's not what the bonsai masters consider a forest. Like a bonsai master don't consider a mallsai a bonsai, wich you do know.

I Googled that line. And I will not hope that you found it on Wikipedia, wich is NOT a trusted source. Anyone can edit it.

I don't want to discuss with you everytime i make a post. I read your posts, and you always disagree with me and everybody else. And you make every chance to start a discussion. In the future I don't spend 1 sec. on you. It's not worth the time. Because in Auks world, he is the bonsai master. But you do not become bonsai master, by helping people on BE with their mallsai's and all the other crap we see on this forum. You are not that friendly, new members on the forum writes that almost everyday. And I have got enough of you now.

You always tell people to look out in the nature, when you give them advices. Then let me give you some of your own medicine, perhaps you will understand then.

How many forest have you seen with 3,5 or 7 trees? None!
How many forest have you seen with 9 or more trees? Many!

I know it's difficult to understand, but try please. If you can learn from Wikipedia, then you can learn from anyone.

Very sad to read this post, it is against a lot of what I stand for with 名媛直播 Empire. To me, being 'right' should be far less important than being courteous, especially to beginners.

From this point onwards, courteous and constructive should be the pointers for this thread. Thanks!
