I love when it blooms.

Certainly not.
Azaleas are not apical predominant, so I will keep using the two lowest branches as sacrifice to thicken the trunk. As the trunk grows up, both branches will be better positioned to be first and second main branches.
When I say I will lower the tree I mean chopping down the height and pruning lower branches accordingly to get better proportion overall.
