Pleasing image, and the tree is obviously healthy. I think you are going for the savanna tree look? Pierneef style?

Keep an eye on the smallest stem. It seems left behing in growth. Maybe skip a round of trimming to let it get stronger?
I do not have the species, so cannot give you recommendation re. flowering.

How is the healing of scars proceeding? I am happy to seee they do heal over. I should get me one of these one day :)

thank you, yes pierneef style is what i am aiming for.

i believe the way it was potted before did not allow for roots to grow on that side and any new growth would just die off after winter so i have not been able to build that section but i been holding off on any pruning to help branches elongate and get stronger and also repoted the tree a little to the right to help it establish roots in hopes of it helping out.

scars are healing over extremely fast. some even have fully healed over in about 1 year or so when i have other trees that have had scars for 3yrs and are about half way healed over. great species to work with, pretty drought tolerant and they LOVE the sun. all day direct sun and it grows fast! will update photos of some healed over scares after work today.

prune number 2 of the season. tree is very healthy and loves the sun and heat we been receiving lately. canopy is filling in nice and did not touch the bottom left stem in hopes of it getting stronger and heavier foliage.

DO you have a close-up of one or two leaves? I have planted aot crepe myrtle seeds in a large seed tray. Something is sprouting which I do not know. I am hoping it is myrtle!

With the great colors this autumn and just before all the leaves dropped i thought id do a quick edit of the tree as it sits now. Tree will receive a good wiring this winter to try and bring things down just a bit. But I'm very happy with the progress of this tree although the left side still has a lot of developing to go.

it is now safe to say spring is officially here. tried something new this past winter as I used guy wire to bring branches down in efforts not to damage the smooth bark on branches. picture from 3 weeks ago and how is sits now.
