I would start by letting the clay dry. Once is has dried you have to bake it to stone. but you are better of trying to find blocks of stone to work with.

I think this is their most fascinating one. Could be pool/swimming related though..
As for the plans in first post, have you identified species yet for best care instructions?

place soil in your garden and water regularly to make more. in about a decade or so you can then start to work with it.
