Picked up this 15-20 year old Hornbeam for ?10 the other day. Here's a few photos.

Going to remove the moss from trunk and some soil to reveal the root structure
Interesting mid-trunk detail. I love the trunk of this tree but needs more taper
Shortened the branch.
I plan to wire this tree before the end of the week and remove the dead leafs so I can get a better idea of how to go with it.

Letting it grow.....after air layering the top haha.
I love the dead wood detail which I plan to have as the base of my trunk. Later following it out after many years of thickening it up.
