No.
What if I keep my bonsai in my room from spring to autumn, and in the winter I keep it in a low temperatured place (garage)
It will probably die.

I have 1 japanese maple that I grow on the balcony all year round. It's on the 3-rd year now.
I have 2 japanese maples that I grow outside untill the winter when I put them indoor at a temp around 15 celsius and get them out after the temp outside in the night goes over 0 degrees.
All of them are fine, but the 2 ones that grow outdoors grow much more vigurous.
All of the trees need colder temp in the winter - maby except tropical and sub-tropical species.
They need to have a time of inactivity and loose the leaves, but be aware of the indoor positioning ... partial shade, a little draft, and variations of the night-day temp.
To answer you question, no that is not the only reason. There is no indoor tree - but some are more easy to adapt than other - but in the end it all comes to your care.
Good luck.

Of course I would put it to its new place in time to get the bonsai used to cold.
Any experience?
Why would you want to do this?
And no you cant. it will die

No it is not. He asked if they can go indoors. They cannot. Deciduous trees belong outdoors (and so do conifers).

This is a bad practice. They may get through winter, and through the next one, but you will exhaust them. You already noticed they are less vigorous.

As for the 2 ones that I keep outdoors during the warm seasons - THANKS mate I will try to leave them outdoors all the time.
Just don't know how to keep them from freezing. There in normal soil in pretty large containers. Here's one in april.
I live in a temperate climate that is just out of this world for the last years. Very unpredictable.
It's luck I guess. This year in april we got 2 nights with about -1, -2 degrees celsius and a little snow after weeks of 10-15 plus.

This spring was extreme. We have had ut to -8 when all the trees were growing. So even full-sized trees here were damaged. Nothing you can do for them. But bonsai you can move to a sheltered space for a bit.
