Hello, ok so I have a juniper that was in a 2 1/2 inch deep pot, i started to notice a couple of the branches were changing color. I looked at the top soil and all over the tree for any pests and couldn't find anything. So I decided to look at the roots maybe something got in through the mesh and to my surprise there was a massive ant colony all through out his soil and root ball. I sprayed the old dirt away trying not to harm the roots in hopes it would wash out the ants but they just keep coming out. So I sprayed it with neem oil and put it in a bit deeper pot with fresh substraight and watered well. The ants are still all over it and I don't want to spray bug killer in case I harm the tree. What can I do to eradicate the ants?

try garlic powder
If that does not help.. Submerge the pot overnight in water. Then allow the soil to dry again as junipers do not like wet feet for too long
