Hi i have a young variegated schefflera bonsai that was doing great until recently when a bunch of black dots showed up on its leaves. After that happend a bunch of the leaves will turn yellow or black and fall off and it is not doing well. Are these bugs or what and whatever they are, what can I do to bring my bonsai tree back to good health? thanks much.

According to homeguides.sf.com, it sounds like your problem is a bacterial leaf blight known as Pseudomonas leaf blight.
"Pseudomonas leaf blight (Pseudomonas cichorii) affects leaf margins of dwarf schefflera. Initially, small water-soaked spots appear before they rapidly coalesce, turn black and lead to severe leaf drop."
Schefflera doesn't like chemicals though. Try and keep the leaves dry to stop the spread if it isn't covering the entire plant already. I am not an expert and you will need someone else to explain the best bactericide to use.
