Hi there,
I have few questions about my azalea, I obtained the tree 1 year ago and what I did:
1.removed all the flowers
2.repotted in akadama and sphagnum moss (just the top of the pot, covering the surface)
3.added biogold fertilizer after repotting and placed the tree in a shadow position and kept moist but not wet.
The azalea survived the very cold winter ( - 20 degrees Celsius) and in February I noticed that the buds were present and when I removed the sphagnum moss, I saw some root rot, you can smell it ( see the photos)
So, in few words, do I need an urgent repotting in kanuma and akadama, for exemple? My azalea looks healthy (the leaves are dark colored) but the tree is not flowering for the moment (I put some biogold a 1 month ago).
Any advice is welcome.
Thanks

Yu are overwatering. Azaleas need to be on the dry side, I allow mine to almost wilt. It is also early for them to be in flower. When you remove the flowers you must remove the seed pod also.
