I picked up a tree at a garden centre for 236 yen cause it`s well bare but has buds I think i can turn it around.
It looks great for making a bonsai with. I was thinking to try graft a branch of shiro onto the side so i have a half white half red.
The tag says in kanji mayakoubai 麻耶紅梅 (まやこうばい)
The name in Japanese is refereed to as mayakoubai (red sweet plum) maybe.
From what i know it flowers latter than the shiro that I have.
Anyone know if this is the same as the other red plum you often see in japan they usually use a different name.
Or if this is some import/hybrid species.
Would give photos but as said it`s a little bare right now.
