hi, my Chinese elm has lost all of its leave in the middle of spring is this normal? they all turned brown shriveled up and fell of. what should I do?

Put it in shade with basic watering and wait. Probably it will not help but its all you can do.

Depending on how long ago you move it to the outside it could be environmental shock. Things like temperature fluctuations, lighting fluctuations, or humidity fluctuations could cause it to loose it leaves. Chinese Elms are hardy plants and great for beginners. Just let it rest and recover by keeping it out of direct afternoon-evening light, and water only when the top of the soil is dry. A little liquid fertilizer once every 1-2 weeks wouldn't hurt either.
