Satzuki Azalea-- HELP!! It is not doing well was created by amckee28

I am at a loss what to do. The first picture is my Satzuki Azalea, it was doing beautifully and growing leaves everywhere. What happened is that - I was moving back home after a job and instead of boxing the bonsai up and shipping it to me overnight to my apt, I decided to trust a friend to drive it across country for a week drive back to California.
What showed up to me was almost a dead plant. All of the leaves were crunchy, she said that she watered it every day, but what had happened was as she drove it was in the sun for most of the day. My friend freaked out when she came home because she realized it was not doing well and took it to a bonsai specialist and they said the plant was scorched, and to give it time and it would come back to health. That was about a month ago. There are still NO leaves or any sign of new buds forming. Because of how fast the plant formed buds when I first received it as a gift, I do not know what to do. I water it every day, and there is fertilizer in it as well. Any advice is appreciated. I am afraid to leave her outside so she is indoors with indirect sunlight.

Azaleas take about 2 weeks to bud back but could take longer. You could scratch the bark off an area to see if you see green. They are a hardy plant and that makes them great for beginners. Just don't drown it in the mean time. Most people overwater when they worry which puts more trauma on the plant. Keep us updated.

Forgot to add it still needs sun. Direct Early morning or late evening sun would be good. Or a full day of indirect light.

and as far as it being a month or more since its lost its leaves, give it more time, Azaleas are pretty slow growers.

That plant is dead. It should not be kept inside, and that is what has killed it. It should be in full leaf and ready to flower at this time of year. Watering every day made it worse.
