Warning.... NEWBIE!

Hi everyone, after getting a bonsai tree last month (small podocarpus) for my birthday, I decided to venture and become interested into the world of bonsai.

During a trip to the garden centre I was looking through the outdoor tree and came across this little Lawsons Cypress (Chamaecyparis lawsoniana). Seeing a little bit of potential I've given it a small prune and exposed some pretty cool nebari. I now this species isn't particularly big in the bonsai world but from a newbie to the world of experts, I was just wondering where do I go from here and is there any potential in my little tree.

for me that tree has a lot of potential. the branches, the nebari i like it but wait for more answers because i am new in this art too
