Hi group, my 5 years old large Ficus bonsai lost all the leaves at the top part this winter and doesn't show any new growing however the botton part looks healthy and have new leaves. I give her fertilizer, water and add extra bonsai soil when is recommended however nothing really seems to work at this point. I have followed different advices to fertilizer, watering and add new soil from many shops but nothing work . Can someone help me? I really love her . Thanks

It probably needs a good repotting into a good free draining soil mix

However that ficus is not a bonsai it is a mass produced tree shaped to fool people to believe it is a bonsai but it is far from it , a bonsai is trained for years to develop a design that simulates an old tree in nature not just a styilish house plant , however if you want and are interested in the art of bonsai you're tree could one day become one but first you must become wise on the art of bonsai to make it so .
First of all depot it and keep it healthy

Thank you very much for your reply Enaisio, I really appreciate it. I know the hours, love, knowledge and patience you guys need to develop a bonsai. I was told that this one was just a type of bonsai anyway I love it as I love all plants so, I will follow your advice hoping my plant get back to live . I would like to ask one more question if you don't mind please, if the top part is dry "death"what I should do ? Cut it  ? Have a lovely day and thanks once again

Cutting the top would be the first step to making this a bonsai but I would first repot it and wait a couple of months for it to recover then you can chop if you want , but as I said "if you want " you can always keep it as a house plant the top Might even come back to life if it is not long since it's lost its leaves , if it does you can also try an air layer and have 2 plants instead of 1 .

Have you checked for insects? Scale and spider mytes can cause a lot of problems if left untreated, and can easily be missed. Any fine webbing on the tree?
Keeping the plant evenly moist, with lots of light in a warm area should bring you recovery. Repotting might not be the best thing. Unless the roots are the cause of the problem, it is equally likely youd kill the tree.
How long have you had these troule? Ficus is sensitive to change.
