For about a month the weather has been perfect. Never dipping below 0 C and, at the highest, 22 C. The average was about 17.8 C. I made sure to water when it was dry enough, and I recently fertilized it (I buried the solid fertilizer). However, it has looked like this for about 2 weeks. Has it died?

No idea. What species is it Difficult to see from the picture. What country are you in? If it is deciduous and you are in the northern hemisphere then something is wrong, but not in southern.Next get it out of that gravel and stop fertiliser.

It is a Japanese Maple, I am in the north-western US. And okay, and should I remove the fertilizer?

What fertilizer did you put on? The plant can have dried out due to high concentrations of fertilizer. however, if it is an organic fertilizer this should not happen.
Just provide an evenly moist but not soaking wet rootball. Place in the shade (or early morning or evening sun) and wait. It looks like something went wrong. Just to make sure.. It IS outside right?

I put Green Dream pellet fertilizer on it. It is an organic, 7-5-5 fertilizer. It is moist, I don't believe it is soaking wet. It is outside and it is in the shade. That's why I am so confused, it seems like everything should be fine.
