Personally, for bonsai, I don't like the pot at all.

Yeah, a bit souvenir like but I would have one just for the sake of writings and that classical (commercial) asian look.

For bonsai, you'll want a pot that attracts less attention than the tree itself.

Lol..the pot was non intentional as my wife bought it for me whilst I was absent..I too hate the thing with a vengeance and will be looking towards a more traditional clay unglazed rectangular shape perhaps that will befit the tree and it's outside setting...thanks for all the constructive criticism thus far...it is how one learns...brilliant thanks...

I would seriousky consider restyling this plant. If you are serious about bomsai, you cannot take this plant and the current styling serious. Have a browae online for privet bonsai. Particularly harringtons bonsai4me has a few nice ones.

I would seriously consider restyling this plant. If you are serious about bonsai, you cannot take this plant and the current styling serious.

Always willing to learn and considering I have only had this plant for a week or so, can you suggest what you would do to this tree to whip it into shape.considering my very limited ability and proper tools, .can you supply me with some insight on how to accomplish this
