Is there something wrong with my tree?

So I've recently bought a bonsai tree and I'm not sure what kind it is. I have noticed that recently the leaves have been browning and falling off and was wondering if it is natural or not? I've also found a white stuff on the bottom of the tree and was worried about that as well. It is kept in a warm light room and is watered daily, I have been making sure to not over or underwater, making sure the soil is damp but not soaking wet. Any help would be great thanks!

Doesn't look like a bonsai to me.
I'm not sure a on what kind it is
What did the seller say it is, what was on the card that came with it? If the seller could not tell you what it is, you should not have bought it as now you don't know what care is required. Actually, you should have done research in advance, to make sure you can actually give it the care it needs.
I have noticed that rectently the leaves have been browning and falling off and was wondering if it is natural or not?
Probably not. Depends.

Looks like you've been overwatering it.

Posted 7 years 10 months ago #29639If you looking for some tips you may want to provide following:
- where you keep the tree? sunny or shady place?
- how you water it? on what pattern you water it?
- pictures of the whole tree are useful too.
- have you tried to obtain some basic tree and bonsai information and knowledge so far?

HI,
So I keep the tree on my desk where it is light but it isn't in direct sunlight either as I've seen that it can be bad for the plant.
I water it in the morning whenever I get up usually, and I use kinda like a spray bottle cause I read that you should water using a fine nozzle and find this works more or less the same
I have been researching and I feel I may have overwatered but just wanted to make sure nothing else is wrong. I've also tired to find what type it is but can't really tell. I bought it from a plant based store which said it was a bonsai and gave basic care infomation
Here are some more pictures. It's late so hard to get good quality. Thanks for the reply!

Posted 7 years 10 months ago #29647Now, give little rest on watering. Wait for soil to get -almost- dry. Then water gently, just enough to get water start fall from the holes on the bottom of the pot. Dont water on routine, only when soil goes dry. Make sure it gets good sunlight, dont need direct sun rays but make sure its not a shady place. Then take back from the tree and dont overcare. Let it recover and adopt its new home. In the while read and watch videos how to care for these trees. Gain as more information as you can, there is plenty over internet, including this website here.

Posted 7 years 10 months ago #29648Although you might be watering it too frequently, you might find that your plant is suffering from a pest. The pictures of the leaves you show, look like that som odd thing is going on.
