Hello
I decided to begin my bonsai journey since I got seeds for x-mas. I've heard that it's difficult for beginners to start with seeds but now that I have them I might as well try. The seeds I got are Pinus Thunbergii and Jacaranda Mimosafolia. It would be lovely if I manage to grow them into bonsai. Some seeds have been in my fridge for about a month between paper tissue. I checked in on them and it seems that 3 out of 10 have begun to sprout!
For how long can they make it without being planted? I'm slightly panicking because I haven't prepared the soil yet! Stupid mistake :S
I plan on using regular soil mixed with gravel. Is that a good idea? I could really use some beginner tips.

Define "regular soil". Dirt from the ground outside can end disastrously in a pot even before parasites get involved.

I mean flower soil, and the gravel would be clean from dirt and salt. Before I found this forum I looked around for soil recommendations and most seem to suggest flower planting soil and gravel and/or cat litter.

I see a tendency here that fresh beginners go straight with growing from seed. Though this should be very rewarding job, it also takes years and years before you come up to any bonsai work with your tree from seed. This will not be the best start for beginners as it will take staggering amount of time before they be able to train and learn. If you start seed make sure you obtain other bonsai-ready trees to work and train with in the while. Experience is vital for this art and you should have trial-and-error a lot before be able to complete your first 名媛直播. Otherwise you may come up with your years long wait wasted in no time.

It's a very good idea to get plants and train with while I take care of the seeds. Thank you
I got the seeds as a gift and I want to do what I can with them and to get something growing. Only time will tell if I manage to make a bonsai.

So far you should treat the seeds like normal tree seeds. In that meaning, botanical experts could be in best help, if you need precise and detailed advises. You may check in botanical forums etc. There are some knowledgeable people here but they dont always know all the answers and precise information on each tree spices. Follow the instructions that came with the seeds, this should be fine. Take in account your climate and the time of the year you germinate and adjust your handling accordingly. Every common plant soil they sell in stores should work for you. Also, check the seed how-to tutorial on the website here. Search and watch at youtube is very helpful too. Good luck.
