The recommendations for good fertilizer are carefully created by the manufacturer. Follow the instructions on the package.

Why would you do that?

I'd say it would be good to be careful giving advice if you're a beginner yourself.

That's OK.
Plants will not react that fast to fertilizer. I wonder if a beginner (or actually, I) would be able to see the difference between lower and higher amounts of fertilizer or if it's temperature, humidity, water or amount of light that it is actually responding to.
Anyway, here's an interesting article:

I really dont want to spread any more confusion here. I believe the advice I mentioned refers to liquid non organic (chemical) fertilizers and since they are universal but every tree is own specific there should be some caution, at least for beginners. That is my assumption. Tree react slow, and that is the good part. If they dont like the fertilizer you have time to react and vice versa. Sorry again, I just wanted to tip on the topic from my non experienced perspective but based on what other bonsai growers advise. I personally follow this advice and by far my tree looks ok and thriving. Case closed.

Maybe you missed a part:
"Fertilizers are carefully crafted to provide an optimum level of salt in the soil solution when used as directed. Let the directions be your guide. Do not use more or less than the recommended amount, or more or less often than listed on the label"
