One of my seedling fell limp. Perhaps I didn't water enough on Friday before I left? Probably doing more damage than good, I dug it out to check for any issues or rot or fungus. As I said, I am new to all of this, and anything I could think of I looked up to see if I could verify.
I replanted it, propped it up with a paperclip and watered both plants. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Should I still replant into a bigger pot?

When I said leave 'm alone, I meant leave 'm alone. There's no need to put them outside. Just keep 'm where you have them now, until spring.

Japanese black pines require a dormancy period, where temps drop below 50 degrees F for not less than 1000 hours consecutively. So unless you live up on a mountain there that seedling you have will be toast in the next couple of years.
Hm. Makes me wonder why they are on the list of trees recommended for Texas.

Auk, I know you have more experience than I do and respect your comments but would you agree with my previous comment. I also mentioned in the comment "when the nighttime lows are ≥40 degrees fahrenheit" so that it would basically be spring at that point.Auk wrote: Now I am home I have a better look at the photo. Sorry, but I disagree. I have black pines, actually, grown from seed. I waited with placing them outdoors till mid spring and there was no chance of night frost.
I do agree the trees need to be outdoors, but I wouldn't place them outdoors when they are so weak, if it's cold outside.
