I am new to all of this and Trying my best. I received some Japanese Black Pine Seeds and followed all the directions and ended up with only 2 seedlings. This was about 6 weeks ago. The larger one has a small bud growing out of the top center. I had plans to move these two to a larger pot this weekend, but left them at work. Done this for the past 2 weeks, so I wasn't worried.
Came in Extra Early today to find

One of my seedling fell limp. Perhaps I didn't water enough on Friday before I left? Probably doing more damage than good, I dug it out to check for any issues or rot or fungus. As I said, I am new to all of this, and anything I could think of I looked up to see if I could verify.
I replanted it, propped it up with a paperclip and watered both plants. Any help on this would be much appreciated. Should I still replant into a bigger pot?

Definitely leave it alone. If it's still at the office get it home. As soon at the nighttime lows are ≥ 40 degrees fahrenheit get it outside but protected from the wind and sun (indirect sunlight). After about 4-6 days of this move it to where it gets morning sun and late evening sun for another 4-6 days. You should see the stem (trunk) getting stockier and the seedling is hardening off. After about total time 14 days it will be ready to move. Still protect it from heavy rain, strong winds, and of course frost.

Now I am home I have a better look at the photo. Seems that is not going to survive.
When I said leave 'm alone, I meant leave 'm alone. There's no need to put them outside. Just keep 'm where you have them now, until spring.

If you are in Texas, the other one wont survive for very long either. Japanese black pines require a dormancy period, where temps drop below 50 degrees F for not less than 1000 hours consecutively. So unless you live up on a mountain there that seedling you have will be toast in the next couple of years.

Hm. Makes me wonder why they are on the list of trees recommended for Texas.

Auk, I know you have more experience than I do and respect your comments but would you agree with my previous comment. I also mentioned in the comment "when the nighttime lows are ≥40 degrees fahrenheit" so that it would basically be spring at that point.

Sorry, but I disagree. I have black pines, actually, grown from seed. I waited with placing them outdoors till mid spring and there was no chance of night frost.
I do agree the trees need to be outdoors, but I wouldn't place them outdoors when they are so weak, if it's cold outside.
