Hi! After doing some research into wisteria I learnt that it can take 7 - 20 years for it to flower. So I'm wondering, is it better to take some cuttings or grow from seed for bonsai? Also, where would be the best place to get cuttings in the UK?

I would take air layers or dig one up. Even from cutting it would take a decade to get a good sized trunk.
Where to get cuttings? No idea. Look around your area for them I suppose.

Buy a 10 year old plant from a nursery and grow it on. There are plenty about if you look. Don't believe all you read, I have flowered from cuttings in less than that. If it takes a lot longer then it may never flower.

You are talking cutting. The OP was talking about seed, if I understand it correctly.m5eaygeoff wrote: Don't believe all you read, I have flowered from cuttings in less than that. If it takes a lot longer then it may never flower.

Well, I'm more inclined to attempt to bonsai the wisteria from an older plant now anyway. So will likely buy a plant. I've not seen any locally to take a cutting from.
