Hi all! I was wondering about the equipment and tools I'd need and if there is a recommended basic starter kit I can buy somewhere? I've had a google but I just don't really know what I'm looking at. I plan to grow from seed.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

When you want to grow from seed all you need now is patience. It will be several years before you need anything than seeds, soil and pots.

Thanks, and what kind of soil should I use? I would like to grow some Japanese wisteria (floribunda) and some Azalea (Rhododendron simsii). Are their special requirements or can I just use some compost?

Aloha from Hawaii!
I just purchased my first bonsai, a 3 yr old mini-Serissa, from a local 名媛直播 Club. I was told it will be fairly easy to care for, when I shared my plan to keep in well lighted office, artifical and natural light sources. After reading about the species, I'm now a little intimidated & and wondering if this was not a good choice for a beginner. The bonsai seems very healthy and I am already in love with it. Any advice for care in an indoor office environment?
Thanks!

In fact you purchased a young plant, that, after many years, using the right techniques, can become a bonsai, when trained by someone with the knowledge and patience to train it properly.

Serissa is not easy to care for. Keeping plants in an office is not easy.

No, I don't, sorry. But why keep it at the office, can't you just keep it outside, where it belongs? Would that be a problem in your climate?
