Hi! Can anyone help me ixentify what my bonsai is ? It was an xmas present that came with no tags and or labels so im none the wiser! Also can anyone reccomend pruning tips? Ive never had one before ! Also there seems to be a fluffy white mold growing on the soil? Is this normal? Ive attached pictures for all of my questions!

The leaves & roots look like a privet (Ligustrum), but that's first guess. The mold is often caused by the soil remaining too wet. Let it dry out in between waterings. Check the bottom of the pot. If there is hot glue over the drainage holes, remove it. This is an outdoor species, so it will be best to acclimate it back outside over the next week or so. Privet are extremely hardy, so they can survive the low temps. Mine just went through a sustained 5°F (-15°C) cold snap. It'll be fine. Will probably need a repot in the spring.
Now that you've got that, do more research on your tree. This forum and several other sites have loads of information. Use a simple search, and you'll find loads of already answered questions. Good luck!

Yes to privet, yes to mold, but I wouldn?t put it outside once it have been kept inside in supermarket - I would wait till spring and then put it outside for summer and autumn and only after that it has a chance to survive low temperatures.
