Got 2 beautiful bonsai trees as a gift bcus I mentioned it to my mother, however have no idea what species it is and from research, knowing this is important for care of the plant. From basic search and looking at a few pictures, I've come to the conclusion that it's a money tree, but of course I'm not experienced in any way so reassurance would be good. Also, tips and how to care for it? Thanks!

Technically speaking it is not a bonsai.... as it does not fit certain form criteria... I know this from experience, having bought a similar plant to your ficus microcapa ginseng... they do help in learning to care for bonsai trees... however.. not all trees have the same requirements. It needs a fair amount of moisture and sunlight... if you got the same info packet about submerging the tree's pot in water that I did... don't do that... wait until the soil gets close to dry and pour water over the top... like rain... they look fairly healthy as far as I can tell from the picture.
