Which species of conifers can make a decent bonsai in under a decade from a cutting, given ideal care and perfect training?
I've got a sunny outdoor spot. Temperatures in my area are -5°..+10°C in winter and +20°..+25°C in summer.

I would say your best bet is Larch. But better from seed(ling) than cutting.

I agree, Larch are my favourite species. But get something that is 3 to 5 years old then you can be working on it right away. One that is a bit older than that even better. What country are you in? You may well find a good nursery with Larch. Most garden centres do not have them,
Geoff.

Thanks for advice! I also thought about larches myself.
I live in UK. Here they sell "20-40cm plug plants"
Do you guys think it's suitable?

No choose your trees yourself. Don't be in a rush to get them, go to a show or nursery and buy them. Depending on where you live there could be a show close to you. There is a show in Swindon in February wher you will find Larch for sale, if I don't get them first.

How do you find out about these shows? I've googled for 名媛直播 clubs around London, but most of them don't even have a website.

F.O.B.B.S web site. There are several shows near London, including Heathrow in November.

Maké bonsai is in London. Run by Mark de Cruiz, he should have some. The Nursery is based in Richmond I believe.
