Help me not kill another tree

HI everyone. It's only my first year of growing bonsai, and I've had mixed success. My holly, myrtle, and junipers are all ok, but so far I've killed an azalea, a Fukien, and (most likely) a Ficus Green Island.
I'd like to stop my bad luck streak.
Problem is, I'm kind of a moron. See, I'm here in NE Ohio, and temps have been dropping. I didn't pay attention and didn't realize I needed to bring my brush cherry in before temps dropped below 40. It's still got foliage, though it looks a little worse for the wear.
Should I bring it in now? I'm worried the extreme temperature change may just shock it to death.
If i do bring it in, does it get a grow light? What? I can't just leave it out on a table or counter, because my cats won't let it last 2 minutes.
Recommendations?

Has it been above 40? Wow... that's hot man.DanielSan wrote: in before temps dropped below 40.
It would have to drop more than 40 before you get in trouble. It shouldn't get below 0, so if it does, you'll have to take it inside.

I know we're supposed to use celsius for temperature measurement but I think he means Fahrenheit.
