Hello,
I have a few questions about wintering. So I live in in MN and can't seem to find solid answer for how I should winter my trees. My original plan was to burry each tree with it's container into the ground so the topsoil of planter is at ground level. Then cover base of trunks with mulch. I have heard other advice to place trees in cooler then leave in garage and some have said to elevate trees to keep from attracting rodents...
In the attached photograph i am facing south with tree cover to the west. This is ultimately where I would like to stage my trees for the winter. Any advice?
Thanks!!

Sounds good to me. If the impression I get from the photo is right, I'd do it without a container and leave them there for a couple of years too.

What is mn? In any case.. most people worry too much. Look for frost hardiness. Keep plabt out of wind and dirrect sun when frozen and most should be ok.

OK, that explains a lot. I was thinking about mongolian winters, as MN is the abbreviation for Mongolia on internet. Yet could not fit the image with Mongolia.
