Desperate for help!

I am desperate to stop my bonsai from dying if it's not already dead! Picture included. It's the flowering type of bonsai, not evergreen. I recently saw a whole bunch of mealy bugs all over it which appeared from nowhere. I researched some solutions and followed the most popular results... I dabbed them with alcohol and then sprayed it with a solution of diluted mild dish detergent and vegetable oil, very diluted with water. It seemed to get rid of them but the plant wasn't looking good. Research also said to repot it, cleaning the plant well. I purchased bonsai potting soil, Tiny Roots (blend of compost mulch, calcine clay, vermiculite and grit) and repotted it with only that mixture. The plant is now looking horrible, wilted and browned leaves for the few remaining. I again found some mealy bugs a few days after repotting it. I don't know if I over watered with all the cleaning, or if the solution is killing it or the bugs killing it, or if the repotting or soil is doing it. The soil seemed different than what came with the plant, so not sure if I should get something else. The bugs seem to be gone thankfully. More search showed to use soil mixture of Akadama, pumice, lava rock and potting soil. They're hard to find so is there anything I can do while waiting for the ingredients to ship. Wish I found this site earlier! I have no idea what to do! Any suggestions would be hugely appreciated.

for some reason the picture isn't showing up- basically the bark is super dry looking and the few remaining leaves are browned and wilted. It's extremely sad looking.

Reduce the size of the picture.
Your mallsai is probably dead.
