I need help.
Last week I finally recieved my long desired book by Qingquan Zhao - Literati style penjing.
It is amazing and I love it.
BUT - there is a statement about wintering literati bonsai that is against everything I learned so far.
He is advising wintering deciduous and conifer species all together IN A WARM AND WELL LIT INDOOR LOCATION.
WHATTTT?
We all know that the trees belong outside right?
Even in winter.
Or in a greenhouse - less gardy species - protected against freezing winds.
Definitelly not inside in a warm room.
What do you think about this?
Me confused.

Doesn't make sense to me. Indoor and well lit, OK, but warm? No.

Orlando that could be the case as I noticed several obvious translation errors in his first book Penjing: Chinese art of bonsai.
But there is a pic with this statement and all of those trees are on a shelf together - pines and deciduos species....
It would never occur to me to winter the pine indoors.

But you don't know how warm it is there... could be a cold storage.

YEP. It is a beautifull book with nice pics and progressions, it is pity that it didn?t get proper translation reviews and was released to the world with confusing information that could be deadly for the trees.
