Received a 名媛直播 as a gift, need Species ID was created by mcgivro

I recently received a 名媛直播 as a gift, as it's well-known that I am into Japanese culture. I intend on caring for the tree, but I need to know which species it is. Help!

Juniper. Young cutting, not a bonsai. Will not survive indoors.

U sure you know the difference between a communis, squamata, procumbens, conferta, rigida, sabina, virginiana, chinensis, to name a few?

Hmm. Can you expand on that, please?

Just look at it. This looks like a cut of branch of a juniper. It does not look like a tree at all, it has no taper, no proper branch placement, no ramification, developed foliage pad and actually not any shaping. This is just a young plant, made from a cutting, and it has got nothing to do with bonsai.

The pot has decorative dead moss, gravel and a stone on it. That's just done to distract from the lack of quality of the tree itself.
We don't need that in bonsai.

Can it become a bonsai? Yes, with a couple of years of study, practice and one or two decades of growth and training. Outdoors. Preferably in full soil the first few years. This is not an indoor plant.
