Okay so I am trying to start some crab apple trees from seeds for bonsai. I read the directions on this website on how to do it but i have a few questions. First the container in which i put the seeds in. If the container has gravel or another draining substance in the bottom does it need holes? Also the seeds i am using are from the apples from mature trees in my front yard so they grow in this region. i was wondering if i should put the trey of the planted seeds outside or inside or in the garage? please help me asap. thanks in advance!

If you are using crab appels then yws the tray should be outside. The tray MUST have holes in the bottom.

So it seems like you need help with starting from seed. You don't NEED drainage holes as long as you don't overwater, but I would recommend having holes if you are using a regular ceramic pot. I would recommend using potting mix or bonsai soil that has very efficient water retainage since it is rich in nutrients and it will encourage the seeds to start sprouting quickly, but inorganic bonsai mixture is always an option. If the seeds start sprouting, repot it in regular bonsai soil (probably when it's about 5cm+). I hope this helped you.

I apologize in advance for my terrible humor, but...what if the seeds became a transformer? Does anyone know the true power of crab apple seeds?

Mossy moss why would you give someone advice to not have drainage holes. That is a very unwise thing to tell someone. Plants need to be able to drain freely in order to avoid root rot . No one gets their watering spot on every time with every plant. Having drainage holes makes over watering on occasion more forgiving.
(Something feels off, anyone else get this vibe)
