So I got my bonsai in the early summer. It was a bit shocked to the change but it quickly recovered and was beautiful. I moved about a month and a half ago where a nearby orange tree was suffering from mildew. Of course my bonsai caught the mildew. I've been treating it with a mix of water and a little hydrogen peroxide. I've seen a reduction in the mildew although it is not completely gone. I became extremely concerned more recently because the leaves are falling off
We got rid of the infected orange tree so it no longer poses a threat. The bonsai tree sits in a north facing window. It gets morning sun and shade after noon. The window stays open almost 100% of the time unless it's particularly chilly at night. I check the moister of the soil at least twice a day and water as necessary. I have been using indoor plant food by miracle-gro occasionally but I have read not to feed it if it seems to be in distress. It's definitely in distress. Please help!
By the way, I live in Union City, California (bay area, very mild weather).

Hard to assess. Soil seems quite wet, but the photo is'nt very clear. Got a better one?

I water it once a day with a little squeeze bottle. one or two squeezes usually is enough. Do you think I may be overwatering? Would that cause leaves to fall off?

It is possible. You should not water by a schedule. Water when needed, let the soil dry, but don't let it dry out completely.
Follow the guidelines for your mallsai, as described in the 'tree species' guide on this website.

Just noticed that you added a new, and pretty good, photo. I think you should repot it.

As far as watering, I usually use the method you mentioned when I am home but on days where I am not home for a long time I usually give it a squirt before I leave for work especially if it is a supposed to be a sunny day.
I am a nervous wreck about repotting. I suspected that it was something I needed to do but I didn't know I would have to do it so soon after I got it. I will do the research needed before attempting this. Fingers crossed. Thank you so much for your help.

If you transplant it to a larger pot, removing the old soil, as far as possible, without disturbing the roots, into a larger pot with proper soil, it should not be a problem.
If you want to create a real bonsai out of this, you'.lneed lots of growth, so a larger pot would be a first step in the future development of this mallsai.
