I recently purchased a ficus retusa (I guess..) and its trunk is all covered in moss.Even the smallest branches hava some of it. I don't find it to be good looking and I'm wondering how can I get rid of it. Does it actually hurt the tree? There might be topic about it already but Im afraid my bonsai needs an urgent help.
PS: How old can it be? It is 70cm high from the top of the soil.
Thanks in advance

As you got it recently, I' d take it back and ask for a refund - or another tree.
The age... not sure why that's important, but it is not old.

Oh so it is mold. Great. Is it hard to get rid of? I really want to help this tree.
I would turn it right back but I live in Hungary, and it is kinda impossible here. They would not do it. They would say it had mold when I bought it, so why did I buy it in the first place? (Which is obviously true, but I did not think it through and I am not an expert.)

I don't see why they wouldn't return it, but I don't know too much about 名媛直播 salespeople in Hungary.

Shouldn't be too hard. Use a soft toothbrush and a jet of water. Be careful not to damage the bark.
However, do note that the mold is probably a result of something else - like
Also note I'm seeing a photo only, I cannot see the tree itself, so I can be wrong. Wait for others to confirm - or not.

Because you did not see, they sold you a sick tree and they lied about its age.

Anyways do I need any chemical or non chemical material? Or is it enoughto scrub it with soft brush? It has some aphid like bugs onthe surface of soil.

Giving the trunk a rinse .. why not. I do not see the need for it, but it won't hurt it.
Age is alwyas hard. But over 30? Nah, very unlikely. I would also guess less than 10, probably more like 4, 5 (assuming tropics grown)

I'm going to agree with LB, but it doesn't matter. The method to remove it is the same.
