Thanks thats some good advice. Shall I just wire out the branches deemed sacrifice branches and leave the important ones or just wire out a lot of branches and prune a bit all around the tree to improve light.

Dificult one without actually having the tree in front.
I personally have a few junipers, but slower growing, that I am growing out from cuttings. Sam e I am doing with deciduous trees. I let lower branches run wild, removing foliage as it starts to shade out younger sprouts on the base; I want the your growth to stay healthy to later build the tree from. Just work with the idea in mind: ALL green needs to get as much light as possible. A few branches are allowed to grow long and with lots of foliage. This puts a strain on the smaller young branches, so they should not be in the sade or they will die off.
Be aware that branches near eachother may cause bulged. So I allways try to keep at least a branch tickness between branches free.
