Juniper dry branches

So I have been working on a small juniper someone gave me as a gift for about 2 years. It has 2 trees in one pot and I repotted both together (didn't trim much off the roots) this past spring. I have not pruned it as I rewired it after the repotting and I wanted to give it a chance to recover.
One of the trunks is doing fine, new growth and quite happy. The other is dry and brittle and all the foilage seems dead.
I have this tree on my sunporch in full sun and it is beastly hot and humid here. The tree(s) are watered a couple of times a week when the soil is dry.
I cannot figure out what to do next as the two trees are in ONE pot and only one is doing poorly..?

You probably did trim more of the roots of one than frmo the other. Or one did receive the hot dry air when it was just repotted, or.. could be a lot of things. If one is thriving, I doubt it is in the care specifics.

So I'm going to assume the one is dead. It's brittle and the green just falls off when touched. (Well, crap)
Am I best off just leaving it in the pot and not disturbing the living piece or repotting the live one? It's been about a month. It doesn't seem wise to do a second repotting so soon

Not a good idea to re pot again. The problem souded like erratic watering and not enough to me. You need to check every day and water when needed not to a schedule. I am watering my trees every day with few exceptions and that is when it is only about 24 to 26C. Even if it has rained it is unlikely to be enough and I water when the rain stops.

just leave it in.
I doubt it is the watering, as the plant has been in possession for 2 years.
I water between once a week to once a day in summer. Depending the weather. So indeed do not water on a scheduel (But frmo your post I read you water when needed, not on specific days).

From the reading I have done it's a miracle either is alive as I've had them indoors (albeit on a 3 season porch that is unheated in winter).
Botched something for sure. I will just leave the dead on in and see how victim #2 makes out. Repotting fall or spring for these?
Thanks guys!

Don't re-pot it. If it's almost dead, re-potting could tip it over the edge.
For future reference, re-pot early spring, although it does say that in the 'Repotting' article on this website.
