Picked up this azalea at a local club show. The guy who I got it from was actually giving a demonstration so his wife sold it to me. I'm pretty sure it's a satsuki, but not sure what the word sakurei means. Couldn't find anything on the web about it. any ideas?

could be a variety. I will have a look see if I can find it.

There are varieties called Sakura so it be a spelling variation.

I'm not sure yet. It has a nice trunk..I'd like it to grow a bit though.

I'm going to plant mine in a raised bed for a couple years while I train it. It loves the pine needles I keep on the base of the tree and I feed it every couple weeks. Then in a couple years, I'll have something really nice to start a bonsai with.
