This will be my first winter for bonsai. I have a Japanese Maple, Boxwood and Junipers. I live in Northern Wisconsin. Zone 5b : -15 to -10 (F) . I have a garage and a unheated breezeway connection the house to the garage. What do I need to do to get my bonsai's thru the winter?

All can survive in your hardiness zone, just protect from frost.

Oh, this is the part of the year, we just sort of pray. Some say an unheated garage works great. The breezeway, no , try to protect them from the wind, I just stack a bunch of cinder blocks, on the south side of the house, and pack all the trees in, mulched up leaves (we have an overabundance of leaves :S ). Then hope for the best. Conifers, need sunlight, all year.

Hi and welcome to the empire.
All your trees should be able to handle the temperatures reasonably well. I am not sure exactly what the F temperatures would be- you are on an international forum, please use international standards for temperature-. But all three species are hardy up to zone 5. The maple and boxwood I would protect once temperatures drop to -10C or below by putting in an unheated shelter.
MOST trees do not die of cold exposure, but of drying out due to sun and wind with a frozen rootball. If you protect the rootball from the worst cold (place directly on the ground) and you make sure they are not in the wind or sun when it is freezing, you should be fine.
