So I have a mini Japanese pine i have been working on. Here in Osaka it was really hot last week so I missed watering it 1 day.
It sits in the shade from sunrise till 8:30, then gets full sun till around 2 where it`S shaded again from around that time.
Since the soil is so little it requires quite a bit of watering but i try to keep a balance.
There is tiny amounts of moss that seem to be holding in there.
Anyway I think my pine might be dieing now because of that 1 day.
I had this happen before 4 years back with another pine just went brown and died several days after missing watering for several days. (several)
I was hoping that the just 1 day it not the end for this.
The needles are going brown from the beginning at branch side. not the tips though some tips went brown.
Thing is a lot of this foliage is new as of only 5 weeks back. i can`t see any new growth bits so i am worried.
The photo it is hard to see brown but at 60% at this stage is showing the browning.
What should i do here?
keep in shade / keep inside near window ? any suggestions
Luckily my other bonsai such as maple cotton easter and plum are A ok.
thanks

Tough one. Like junipers, pines can be slow to show problems until it's too late. The one dry day, or even something else done/not done a week/two weeks ago may have contributed. I'd carry on with your normal care & observe.
Sorry, friend.

Hm.. It looks to me more than being dry for a day. Pine typically handle that very well.
Has it been repotted in the last 6 months? It feels more like roots that give up after a longer struggle.
