I bought a chinese elm that had been kept as an indoor tree. The more I have read about the tree, the more I am convinced this is not a good idea. Do you any of you have experience with turning an "indoor" chinese elm into and "outdoor" one? Fall is still a few months off, so I wanted to start thinking about this now.

put it outside now. First few weeks in dappled sun. After that, slowly move it into a sunnier position.

I've had it outside for about two weeks. I have a west facing balcony. So it gets a fair amount of evening sun.... well German weather permitting of course. ;-) anything else I should be careful of? when fall starts to come?
