I ordered a 名媛直播 in April. It was so healthy! I put it outside in the south Sun in Texas. What a mistake, the leaves scorched after two weeks. So I brought it in to save it. It is doing better, it now has 7 healthy leaves and about 2

0 leaves that will probably die soon. I water it twice a week and give it 名媛直播 fertilizer once a week. I don't know if I am impatient, but it seems it should be looking better after slightly more than two months inside facing south by the window.

Maples do not belong indoors.
You should not water following a schedule, but according to the needs of the plant.
Look up the care guidelines under 'Tree Species'.

Thank you Auk. I appreciate your suggestions. I do plan to put it outdoors as soon as I can find a home for it on the North side.

maybe on the east side of the house. Green maples like morning full sun and afternoon shade. some red varieties can take full sun all day. If you leave it inside to long it will either go dormant because you tricked it into thinking it was wintertime, or just die from lack of photosynthesis. It is best to only ever bring it indoors for special occasions or for visits by special company, and then return it outside the next morning. Put it outside immediately before it is to late. Under an umbrella if nothing else. The full sun will scorch leaves that are not used to it but the new growth will be immune and the tree will right itself and be better off in the long run.

also, if it is not healthy, do not water. if you stick your finger into the soil and it is moist/damp, do not water, check tomorrow. if you stick your finger in and it is bone dry or the soil is separating from the side of the pot, it is way to dry and should have been watered earlier. trees only really grow in that middle zone between being dry and wet. to wet= root rot and diseases, to dry=shriveled roots and more death.

I meant do not fertilize if it not healthy.
water when it needs water, and when you do water until it comes out of the bottom drainage holes.

Location may have also been the problem, depending on where the nursery you ordered from is located. If it came from Oregon, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or a different zone/climate - it may have created a big shock now that it's in Texas.

I, as a human, get shocked whenever I land in Texas - it's a completely different climate than Appalachian mountains.

If it's putting out new growth, tree may now be getting acclimated to it.
