You would be correct. Both very nice indoor plants, though they don't make the best material for bonsai. I'd enjoy them for what they are.

I'm pretty sure your 2nd tree is a Portulacaria afra (P. afra for short, commonly referred to as a dwarf jade or elephant bush), not a 'true' jade (Crassula ovata). P. afras have trunks and branches that are more reddish than C. ovata and much smaller leaves. Both are succulents so there isn't a huge difference, in theory. I can't keep P. afras alive for more than a year but have had much success with C. ovatas. The one that I haven't given away I've had for about 7 years. I think that the P. afra is just much more sensitive to over or under watering.
