This is one of my acer's its about four years old.The leaves are growing in thick bunches.How do I thin them out?

Why do you want to thin them out? You 'll need all the growth you can get if you want this to become a bonsai in the future.

dissectum species aren't the easiest for bonsai.. very slow growth and weak root systems..

just let it grow, so you can thicken up the roots.
