I have a Chinese Elm ( it's a subtropical) and I'm planning to keep it in a greenhouse for summer .
It isn't a proper greenhouse like a pvc material one (I'll attach a picture). I thought the greenhouse would be a good solution to the wind problem and also for warmer temperatures at night. Could someone tell if what I'm going to do is the right thing? I live in UK.
The greenhouse is facing south-west therefore I think it gets afternoon sun. I can change its position to get full sun but I'm not sure to whether it needs it.
Also sorry for all the new topics I feel that other aren't really answering my question.

Wasn't this discussed in another topic already? Please don't open new topics for the same issue.

Do not put a chinese elm in a greenhouse. Just put it outside. It will be fine. It withstands temperatures to -20 in full ground. In a pot untill -5 should not be an issue if not for weeks on end.

Mine Chinese elms winter over just fine outside. This past January hit ~ 5°F (-15°C), no issue. They're all vibrant & growing well. I do have them on the ground during winter and surrounded by mulch. One has a pot less than an inch deep - vigorous trees.
