This really is not a bonsai tree, and actually, there is no such thing as a 'type of bonsai tree'.
Do you want us to identify your plant? It doesn't look familiar to me, to be honest. Couldn't you ask 'Bunnings' what it is?
Actually... when looking at their website with 'bonsai', I see the name is written on the label, right under 'Bunnings'...
None of which they sell (link: ) is bonsai, they are all just young plants.
I mean... seriously... selling this as bonsai is very misleading, imho.

Again, they don't sell bonsai. They sell young plants labeled as bonsai, which are young plants, not bonsai.
Your plant is not a carmona. If I have to guess, I'm going to say it's a buxus.
