Type of Cherry Tree was created by Wheath

I bought this cherry tree in October while visiting FL. It had small cherries on it when I got it. Due to living in MI, the tree was moved indoors. It isnt dead, but does seem to be struggling.

I am not 100% on the type of cherry, and I didnt see one in the guide that looked close. I am wondering if anyone knows what type ot is more specifically so I can try to figure out how to help this tree thrive.

I am also wanting to get another bonsai and am open to starting on myself. Because of location, anyone have any suggestions on what kind of tree or suggestions on things you have learned.

it's a tree! move it outside or it will die!
(already looks half dead)

there are several hundreds of types of cherry.. so you should have asked where you bought it..

look for a bonsai club in your region and ask what trees are best there..

remember, trees are living organisms that need to be outdoors.. best choice of tree would be a species that is native/common in your region..

Look up trees in your local nursery (avoid the big-box stores (Lowes/Home Depot)). There are also plenty of native ones within your growing zone suitable for bonsai as well:
Hornbeam, Hawthorn, Elm, Juniper & Pine to name a few.

A link to Michigan bonsai clubs:

Get in touch with your closest one(s) & they'll hook you up with all sorts of advice.
Best of luck

Your response was neither informed or helpful, would have been best if you just hadnt responded

The response was accurate and thus very helpful. If you do not want to hear the truth about your twisted stick in a pot and the way you take care of it, better not ask questions here.

No I responded to negativity with your opinion isn't helpful. If you have information, that would be. Since you did not offer information, I am assuming you have none. I was asking for assistance from people with knowledge and the desire to help, not a troll.

As I was the one asking the question, and I was very clear in my question, and I was the one who received the response, I am the one to decide if it was helpful and answered the question. It didn't. The second response was very helpful. Please review the difference between the two responses and then perhaps you will better understand the difference between helpful and not helpful. If you are only interested in being a troll, take your twisted stick and get a life if you can find someone interested.

This is delicate situation, indeed...

So, you bought a cherry tree in Florida, and you would like to grow it in MI. Yes trees do best outside, like all the other plants. Some like, oh never mind, i just can't think of any thing that would like to grow on your desk. next to the window's best.

You must understand, that your cherry tree, was born and bred to live in the "Sunshine State"(why do they call it the sunshine state when it rains every day?), "out side". Maybe you can get it to grow inside, if you were able to simulate Florida climate, it would be great. Maybe you could get it to survive a Michigan winter outside.

Oh don't worry about it, every one here killed a tree or more. It's spring, you have all summer to enjoy it.
