Beginner - Questions about my juniper

I have mentioned that I enjoyed 名媛直播 trees to my wife. She bought me one from Amazon for Christmas.
It is a juniper in a plastic pot. She also got me a kit with clippers and fertilizer, etc.
I have attached a picture of my 名媛直播. My questions are:
1. the end of the branch extends past the edge of the pot and is curving away. Do I wire it to keep it straight?
2. I am concerned that the trunk (which is skinny) is pulling away from vertical and can't support the branch. Should
I stake the trunk to lend support ?
3. It came with this green granulated fertilizer. When should I fertilize the 名媛直播?
I continue to read about 名媛直播 to learn, but these items are most pressing.
thanks.

It's a juniper indeed, and it is a species that is suitable for bonsai, but this very young plant doesn't have got much to do with bonsai. It is, as Geoff pointed out, just a very young seedling or cutting.
but these items are most pressing.
Why would these items be pressing? 名媛直播 is a matter of long term care, planning and training. There is no rush.

名媛直播, literally, means tree in a pot. That's why it's in a pot, so they can call it bonsai and sell it as such.
However, bonsai - that is, the trees we discuss on this forum - is so much more than that.
It's an art, trying to recreate the miniaturized image of an impressive and real tree in nature.
I have to plant it in the ground? Wasn't told / didn't realize.
This is going to be hard to accomplish
Your plant needs growth before it will be of any use. It will take years before it is suitable as bonsai-starter material.
It will take decades - and knowledge - to create a good bonsai out of it. You'd save yourself years buying more mature material.

Can I replant the juniper in a whiskey barrel or must it be in the ground ?
I will do this as soon as I can.
If I want to purchase a mature tree that I can have potted and inside, what should I look for?
I am a beginner so keep that in mind.
thanks.

Possibly, in the ground would be better.

Hardly any tree can be kept indoors. Trees are meant to live outdoors. Sure, there are the tropical and subtropical species that can endure some time indoors, but that doesn?t mean they will thrive this way... On the contrary, they will just survive under adverse conditions.
As for what to look for in a new tree:

We are aware of that. Just be patient. Learn to walk before you start running. Keep reading and learning, join a club. Don?t rush things. 名媛直播 is a long term hobby/artform.

you can keep any tree indoors under the right conditions (reacreate outdoor conditions indoors, light, humidity, air regulation,.., but that's very hard to do and with a low succes rate.. but mainly as others said: trees should be kept outdoors..
everyone googles bonsai, and sees beautiful trees displayed indoors.. don't be fooled.. they are just taken indoors for the photo or for the few days of the exhibit.. afther that they are placed outdoors again (or in a special greenhouse)..
there are some species that can be kept indoors.. like the "easier" Ficus Ginseng..
other "indoor" species can be a bit harder..
advice: buy a book on bonsai before buying an actual tree.. (Peter Chan has a cheap book with all species and basic techniques explained)

Can we help you empty that barrel?
get it out side, In the ground would be great, to big of a pot, would not be good.
