RHS - Royal Horticultural Society.
Incidentally, they have a pretty comprehensive website, so it may be worth the OP scouring the site for information.

Gee and what gives anyone the idea that and indoor Ficus can not be a bonsai. Wrong they can indeed be a bonsai there tropical and need lots of light and water temperately. Feed from Mid march to November and keep plant in doors in winter and it will a also love to be outdoors in your yard once your sure in your area all frost and or any temps below 45 are gone.. Would also do very well in a gen house as they like a lot of humidity.

sure.. they CAN be bonsai.. but this one can't..
same as not every juniper, maple or pine can be a bonsai...
some plants can, others can't.. and especially Ikea mallsai can't be bonsai, unless you want to waste time, resources and money on making this plant into a tree worthy of the name bonsai..

Requires a trunk chop, take it to your local bonsai club and they will advise, nice thick trunk to work with, it's good material to learn with at best, good luck op.
